Low Voltage Transformers
Engineering and Construction Features
TMC Transformers LV is the business unit of TMC Transformers specifically dedicated to the production of dry-type low voltage transformers and reactors up to 10MVA and with insulation class up to 1.2kV.
LV transformers are typically built using VPI (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) technology. This process impregnates the transformer with epoxy resin under vacuum conditions, enhancing its durability and efficiency. The final stage involves heating the transformer in an oven with controlled temperature cycles. This step significantly improves the quality of both the conductor materials and the insulation, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
In addition to standard designs, TMC offers customized low voltage transformers tailored to specific customer requirements. These solutions cater to various industrial application sectors, including: Traction, Data Centers, Industrial Applications, Oil and Gas and Renewable Energies.
Low Voltage Transformers focal points
- TMC VPI low voltage transformers avoid risks of fire or explosion, as they are cooled not by oil, but air or water (AA, FA, AA/FA, air to water heat exchanger, air to air heat exchanger, water direct and water indirect).
- Suitability for both indoor and outdoor installations thanks to the right protection box, completely designed and tailored according to tough environments needing, from IP21 to IP65.
- Designed transformers with normal or reduced losses to meet specifications to all major international standards, including IEC, IEEE, CSA, UL, ANSI, NEMA, and NRCan.
